styles.css

Which stylesheet to import, and how corner radius and density are configured.

ImportWhen
@gaudi/design-system/global.cssApps without their own Tailwind entry: loads Tailwind v4, Gaudi tokens, foundations and component CSS, and scans the package source.
@gaudi/design-system/styles.cssApps that own their Tailwind entry: import after @import "tailwindcss"; and add @source for the package.
@gaudi/design-system/themes.cssEvery theme preset, switched with data-theme (optional when you use ThemeProvider).
@gaudi/design-system/flow.cssOnly with the Flow component.

src/styles.css aggregates shared foundations and owner-local component styles; src/global.css adds Tailwind and application body defaults. CSS token definitions are authoritative; tokens.json is the JavaScript/preset projection.

Corner radius

Elements use a soft 4px radius. Set --ds-radius on the root after importing the stylesheet to change every corner without rebuilding CSS:

:root {  --ds-radius: 4px; /* 0px for square corners */}

Density

Inner padding, gaps and control heights scale with --ds-space-scale (default 1):

:root {  --ds-space-scale: 0.875; /* compact */}

Corner radius

All corners use --ds-radius (configurable down to 0px). Circles only for intrinsic shapes.

0px4px8px

Density (--ds-space-scale)

Inner padding, gaps and control heights scale with --ds-space-scale (default 1). Prefer gap-* over space-x/y-*. Component CSS uses calc(var(--ds-space-scale, 1) * <length>).

  • tight 0.75
  • compact 0.875
  • default 1
  • relaxed 1.25
  • spacious 1.5
